Words

The words the rest of the site uses.

These definitions are ours. They describe how to read PowerfulBot. They are not a textbook chapter copied from anywhere else.

Chatbot
A product you type or talk to. It sends your words to a model and shows the reply. The product and the model are not the same thing.
Model
The system that produces the reply. Labs name models, and hosts sell access to them. PowerfulBot lists the maker and the host separately when they differ.
Token
A small piece of text the model counts. A token is often part of a word. Prices are usually quoted per million tokens, not per message.
Context window
How much text the model can consider at once, including your prompt and the reply so far. A larger window is not a higher quality score.
Prompt
The instructions and the material you give the model. A prompt that works on a free chat plan does not need a plugin or a paid add-on.
List price
The price on the seller’s own page or price file. PowerfulBot does not invent a price when that page does not state one.
Blended price
A single figure from the input price and the output price. On the benchmark charts it is 25 percent input and 75 percent output. It is arithmetic, not a bill.
Benchmark
A published test with a score. Two scores are comparable only when they come from the same test, run the same way.
Independent score
A score published by a project that is not the model’s maker, such as Epoch or LMArena. Rankings on this site use these when they exist.
Vendor-reported score
A score the maker published about its own model. It stays visible, with a badge, and it is not treated as the same instrument as an independent run.
Human preference
People voted for one reply over another. An LMArena rating is that kind of score. It is not an accuracy percent.
Open weights
The model’s weights can be downloaded under the licence the maker chose. Open weights does not mean the API is free.

Beginner questions

Do I need a paid plan to learn this?

No. The guides on this site are free to read. The linked courses were checked as free to read or watch on the date shown. A paid quiz or certificate is not part of the path.

Which chatbot should I open first?

Start with a free tier of a product you can leave. Use the comparison to see the monthly price the official page actually stated, then try the same prompt in two products.

Why do two sites show different scores for one model?

They may be different tests, different versions, or the maker’s own number. On PowerfulBot, independent and vendor-reported scores stay labeled. A model without a score on a test is left off that board.

Can I paste private documents into a free chatbot?

Read that product’s privacy policy first. Do not paste passwords, health records, or other people’s private mail. A free plan is not a promise that your text is forgotten.
